Based on an in-depth strategic partnership, combining top-tier Nordic design with China’s high-end intelligent manufacturing, Jianglong Shipbuilding (Stock Code: 300589) has delivered the first two 21m hybrid power catamaran salmon aquaculture workboats built for Norway’s Moen Marin.
Cooperation between the two sides has steadily expanded from the initial batch to multiple vessels under construction, with new ship orders continuously signed. With reliable quality and efficient collaboration, the partnership has become a model for high-end shipbuilding cooperation between China and Norway.

As the world’s largest enterprise for aquaculture equipment, Moen Marin is renowned for stringent shipbuilding standards, mature hybrid power systems and professional aquaculture vessel designs. As a leading domestic manufacturer of high-performance special-purpose ships and boats, Jianglong Shipbuilding has become Moen Marin’s global core manufacturing base, with strengths in steel-aluminum composite construction, new energy power integration and intelligent manufacturing.
The two sides have upgraded from order-based cooperation to long-term strategic binding, bringing Nordic standards to China and enabling Chinese intelligent manufacturing to serve the world, jointly exploring the high-end marine fishery equipment market.

The vessel has an overall length of 20.95 meters, a moulded breadth of 12 meters and a crew capacity of 8 persons. Specially developed for Norway’s coastal and global high-latitude farming areas, it supports full-scenario operations including aquaculture supply, cage maintenance, towing and anchoring.
It is equipped with two 575kW permanent magnet motors, a 1260kWh high-capacity lithium battery pack and three diesel generator sets, forming a high-efficiency diesel-electric hybrid power system. It can operate in zero‑emission silent pure electric mode to avoid disturbing fish schools, while meeting IMO Tier III emission standards, balancing environmental protection and endurance.

The catamaran hull delivers excellent stability. The steel hull paired with a seawater-resistant aluminum alloy wheelhouse ensures robust structure and wave resistance. The vessel is fitted with two large-radius hydraulic cranes, four electric side thrusters and a DP positioning system for precise and efficient operations.
It integrates ballast, fire-fighting, hydraulic and automatic monitoring systems. Special deck cleaning and disinfection equipment, fish farm access and other designs are tailored to aquaculture needs. The interior accommodates 8 crew members for long-term operation, with kitchen, laundry, air conditioning, floor heating and low-noise compartments for greatly improved comfort.
